It’s officially the final week of pride month! No worries – you can still find a way to celebrate the strength and beauty of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and all LGBTQIA identifying individuals by participating in a few of the activities listed below:
1. Attend a Pride Parade or Event
Parades are an excellent way to dress up and have fun while experiencing what Pride is about. You can still get involved this June as well as in July.

2. Volunteer with and/or Donate to Local LGBTQ+ Organizations
Who is supporting the advancements of LGBTQ+ rights in your own community? Find out and consider giving back by donating time, money, food, and even knowledge. You can support by completing tasks which may include preparing meals for people or assembling supplies for LGBTQ+ youth experiencing houselessness.
3. Learn about the History of the Month and its Origins
The history of the LGBTQ+ rights movements can be traced to June 1969 during the Stonewall Riots in Greenwich Village, New York. To further educate yourself, spend some time reading articles, watching documentaries or visiting museums – there are many resources out there to support your learning.
4. Discover LGBTQ+ media
A great way to gain a better understanding of the LGBTQ+ experience is through stories told in film, TV shows and books. From newly released Heartstopper on Netflix to … you can find a range of stories featuring queer romance to laugh and cry through. Check out these links if you are in need of recommendations:
